Following my recent cataract surgery I haven’t been able to drive my truck, so I’ve been in our wrapping department. It is a less demanding role, but has made a refreshing change of pace, and I have managed to make some improvements in that area of the factory. I don’t know if those changes will stick, but throughput is up, and I’m happy with that, if it falls back to previous levels when I return to driving, well, so be it.
There are other changes coming this year, at work, as the company starts the long process of moving to a new, more modern premises, but more on the at as it happens.
Meanwhile, I continue to move away from things like Google, and Amazon, to more privacy oriented services, and where I can moving offline entirely. The latest victim of this cloudless life is Amazon’s Kindle service. I’m rediscovering print books. I didn’t realise just how much I’d missed the smell of books.

The only thing that hasn’t changed this week has been the garden, which is not to say that it’s not different this week, compared to last. Spring has made its presence felt, and things have begun to grow, but I haven’t done any work on the structure which I had planned, as the temperature has been too low to move plants, so the whole thing is now on hold until warmer days arrive.
